Huawei unveiled their powerful Ascend Mate 7 phablet at the IFA event in September. According to the Chinese mobile phone manufacturer, there were over 1 million of Ascend Mate 7 units sold in China, as they were not available in other countries also.

Huawei Ascend Mate 7 is the successor of Ascend Mate 2, which came out in January 2014. The new phablet features a 6inches IPS LCD display screen, which supports full high definition resolution. It measures 157x81x7.99mm, which makes it thinner and more compact than its predecessor and it weights 185grams.

Ascend Mate 7 features an aluminum body on its back, which gives the device a premium look. The new device from Huawei is very similar to HTC’s One Max.

The device also features a fingerprint sensor below the primary camera, which is located on the rear of the phone. The sensitivity of the fingerprint is pretty good as it will detect even a wet finger and you only have to tap your finger on it to enable it.

The new Huawei Ascend Mate 7 comes with a Kirin 925 octa-core processor consisting of a quad core Cortex A15 clocked at 1.8GHz and a quad core Cortex A7 which is clocked at 1.3GHz. It uses Mali-T628 graphics and houses 2GB of RAM, while the 32GB variant of Ascend Mate 7 comes with 3GB of RAM.

On the rear panel, the Huawei Ascend Mate 7 has a 13MP primary camera which features LED flash and on its front it features a 5MP camera which can be used for taking selfies. The device comes with Android 4.4 KitKat pre-installed that has Huawei’s Emotion UI 3.0.

As for the connectivity, the Ascend Mate 7 supports LTE connection that allows you to upload at a speed of up to 50 Mbps and download at a speed of up to 300 Mbps. The device supports 2 SIMs at once, so in case you have your work number and your personal one, you can insert them together into this device and you will no longer need to have two devices with you all the time.
