Assassin’s Creed Unity Gets Ridiculous Minimum Specs for PC

Assassin’s Creed Unity Gets Ridiculous Minimum Specs for PC By – Oct 29, 2014 0 0 SHARE

Going by the minimum specifications suggested for Assassin’s Creed Unity, any PC gamer who runs a mid-range or low-end gaming rig will definitely be annoyed.

After all, no company or game developer has ever suggested that someone should use a graphics card that costs at least $500 as the minimum requirement to run a game.

The big question that came out of this released specification is that it is unclear whether Ubisoft was too lazy to optimize the game for the Windows platform or whether it is really a next gen title that demands so much to even run on the computers. Everyone knows by now that the company is known for focusing on the consoles and always keep PC gamers at bay by releasing the title at least a couple of weeks later. For the first time, they are going to release Unity at the same time on all platforms, which is a surprise.

Console or PC?

If we are to claim that the game developers are focusing on consoles, it can be refuted, because recently they confirmed the title would run at only 900p on both Xbox One and Playstation 4 consoles. Ubisoft clearly didn’t side the platforms as well because if they had, the developers would have somehow managed to make the game run at 1080p with 60 fps.

Given the depth and the content filled in the Assassin’s Creed Unity universe, they said that it is nearly impossible to get the game running at such high levels on the consoles. We can confirm this once it gets released in November. Besides, the game is also getting launched along with the old generation exclusive version Assassin’s Creed Rogue, with its counterparts the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360 consoles.

Minimum Specifications

The minimum specifications for Assassin’s Creed Unity include Intel i5 processor or AMD FX 8350, 6 GB of RAM and a Nvidia GTX 680 graphics card or an equivalent from AMD, the Radeon HD 7970 sporting at least 2 GB of VRAM. An issue related to the 2 GB and 3 GB of VRAM persisted with Watch Dogs which failed to run properly on most computers because of the absence of the memory power. But, it was found on the consoles which confirmed the company focused on satisfying the console audience first, than PC gamers. We really wish such issues don’t come up again with this game as well. The game needs a solid 50 GB of hard disk space to be installed!
