Ubisoft has officially announced that Assassin’s Creed Unity season pass owners will be able to start claiming their free game within the next two weeks in the month of December.
They had earlier announced that because of the long list of bugs that plagued the game on launch, the team has moved on to focus and fix them all instead of delivering downloadable content. In the wake of the heavy criticism that crushed Ubisoft on the internet, the publisher decided to stop the DLCs altogether.
But, for those who have already paid to own the season pass and all the promised content, they added that a brand new game will be given to compensate for the loss. The game wouldn’t be any title from the past, but it includes some of the new releases which are still selling so well in retail and online stores, including the newly released The Crew as well as Far Cry 4. Players can also choose to go with games like Watch Dogs, if they haven’t purchased it yet, Dance Central and a few other choices.
Free Game Rolling Out
In a new announcement, Ubisoft has confirmed that they have sorted out the necessary patches to let their Uplay system automatically detect players with a season pass so that the free game code could be distributed to them. When the announcement of the free game was made official, the company requested some time for them to come up with a way to distribute it to gamers over the right platform, without any further confusion.
As promised, they will soon be giving it out to all players who have been waiting to grab their free copy of some of the latest titles including The Crew which is a unique RPG racing style game that lets you explore entire cities in a virtual world.
Assassin’s Creed Unity is not going to be the last game just because it had so many bugs but the company is going forward with Assassin’s Creed Victory, a brand new game scheduled for 2015 release. The title will be set in the British era in London and some screenshots have already been leaked. It could be a good game if they manage to make sure the bugs and glitches are removed before launching. Rolling out four patches and more may not help appease gamers. Let’s hope to see a different Ubisoft next year with amazing titles.
