Boom Beach follows the gameplay of Clash of Clans and Hayday and is a mobile game offered by the same developers, Supercell. Boom Beach is supposed to be a clone of the previous games and is the third game by Supercell. It is a military game in an archipelago setting.
Comparing the Plots
The plot of Boom Beach is set on a group of islands, where the player sets up a base. Blackguard’s army occupies all the other islands and the player has to create military forces for destroying the Blackguard armies on the different islands. Once they are able to destroy the army on one island, the natives are set free and support the player in destroying the evil armies on other islands and free the islanders, by donating gold.
Clash of Clans was available in the App Store from 2012. In this game, the player has to create a village, populating it to help a warring tribe. He has to create a town hall; a gold mine; and an army camp for the warriors. In addition, he has to create an Elixir collector. This is useful for collecting resources and for architectural work. He has to slowly build up the camp to become a fortress, with the ability to unlock more buildings. Players can form alliances with other players and upgrade their barracks and form different kinds of units. They have to fight battles using the right strategy, as it is quite difficult to attack enemies protected by strong walls and fighting with cannons.
Combat Features Comparison
The gameplay of Clash of Clans is somewhat different from that of Boom Beach in the combat features. In case of Boom Beach, it is possible to retain the troops that survive the battle. However, in case of Clash of Clans, you lose units that you deploy, even those that survived the raid. In case of Boom Beach, you can use costly tanks repeatedly, if they are alive, which makes it essential to keep your troops alive. You don’t have to spend repeatedly on your resources or you don’t have to train troops repeatedly. This makes it easy to conduct several raids one after the other, without waiting it out for retaining the army after a raid.
Some of the changes or differences in the two games are that in case of Boom Beach, you have to generate gold; wood; stone as well as iron, though you only need gold and wood in the beginning. Also, you can only construct or upgrade one building at a time in Boom Beach, whereas you could use real currency for buying five builders for constructing several buildings simultaneously.
There is also a change in the tutorial of the two games. Boom Beach came later and today players understand many aspects of the game, which had to be explained in Clash of Clans. The main focus of the Clash of Clans tutorial is on generating resources for buildings, creating barracks and storages and so on. In case of Boom Beach, the focus is on the narrative with the resource buildings not even being mentioned.
Both the games come with multiplayer capabilities. You can conduct a raid on another player’s base and gather the loot and also Victory points. This type of combat offers a way of ranking players.
Both the games are similar to each other, with Boom Beach being a clone of Clash of Clans. However, the clone does come with some additional twists. The flow in the games is the same, namely, to create armies, return attacks, etc. However, Boom Beach comes across as the more polished game.
