Connecting to Google Play for Android Phones and Tablets

The Google play app, originally named as the Android market is a software distribution platform operated by Google. It is the official app store for the general Android operating system. It allows its users to browse and download applications developed with the Android SDK tool and published by Google.

Google Play serves as a tool to offer music magazines, movies, books and also television programs. With these features, having Google Play on your device is therefore important. Rooting your device 

Some Android devices do not accept access Google Play services. Some companies have their own market and only allow installation of apps from the market. Such devices will not accept connecting your devices to Google Play services. You can root your device in order to later download the app. For some devices such as BlackBerry 10, one can download an app called SNAP that accepts direct download of applications from Google Play. 

Opening the Google Play app

Once downloaded, to find the Google Play app, go to the app launcher and click on the Play Store application. This should connect your device to Google Play services immediately. If this does not happen, you will be able to view errors that prevent you from accessing the Google Play Store app.

Connection errors

If you try opening the Google Play store application and it does not open, then the app could have a few errors that hinder its normal operation. First confirm that you are using a device that supports Android and the installation of Play services. If you have hidden the app or locked it, you may have to re-enable it. You can also turn your device off and on in order to access the app. If the application refuses to connect, you may have to contact your device manufacturer for further assistance.
