The Korean giant found the right track in the tablet production department.
Samsung took some time finding the right path, but eventually got there. After maintaining supremacy in the smartphone segment, Samsung was eyeing the tablet segment. In fact, Samsung wanted to overtake the tablet segment from Apple. The Korean number one mobile manufacturing company might not be able to replace Apple, but it found a spot next to its archrival in the tablet department.
Samsung Galaxy Tab series was successfully overtaken by the Galaxy Note series. However, the initial step into the tablet segment was taken by the Galaxy Tab series. The present day tablets owe their recognition to the marvelous tablets produced by Samsung in the Galaxy tab series. The Galaxy Tab S 8.4-inch device is a manufacturing marvel, which to this day is a popular and desirable tablet.
In comparison, HP has been a great producer of templates. However, the company designed and manufactured the Omni 10 Tablet, which provided a decent choice for the people. How HP Omni 10 Tablet manages to fare against the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 device would be an interesting comparison review.
Samsung made sure to equip unique features like fingerprint sensor and decent 8MP scanner to its tablet series. Conversely, the HP line of tablets may not come equipped with such unique features as the fingerprint sensor, but provides a number of other features.
The HP tablet comes equipped with a massive 10-inch screen. The display offers a moderate resolution of 1920×1200 pixels, which ushers the device into a full-sized tablet segment. On the contrary, the Samsung device, with its 8.4-inch screen swings between the full-sized tablet and the entry-level tablet segment. The Samsung device provides a superior 1600×2560 pixels of resolution. Consequently, the pixel density of the display also gets a boost to a superb 350-ppi. The HP Omni 10 Tablet offers support to the popular QHD display.
With respect to the operating system, the popular Samsung TouchWiz user interface accompanied with the state of the art Android based version 4.4 update, provides an extremely personalized experience. The Samsung handset offers more chances of receiving the latest Lollipop version 5.0 update in the near future.
Performance determines the real value of the handset. The HP Omni 10 Tablet consists of an Intel Atom Z3770 processing unit, clocked at a top frequency of 1.46GHz. Despite the device employing a quad-core processing unit, the HP device caters the user with average looking performance. The HP device is no match to the Samsung device, especially in terms of handset performance. The Samsung device has been criticized in the past for employing either Snapdragon or Exynos chipsets. Regardless, the Qualcomm manufactured powerful Snapdragon 800 chip employed in the Galaxy Tab S 8.4-inch tablet turns out to be a superb processing unit, which is set to run efficiently at top speed of 2.3GHz.
The HP manufactured Omni 10 Tablet is made available at a price of $420. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 handset is priced at $300. Both the devices are reasonably priced tablets.
