By all parameters, the HTC One M8 was a highly successful device and arguably the best smartphone HTC has even produced.
The Taiwanese company delivered an excellent flagship in 2014, but improvement is always possible. Technology is constantly improving and changing and it seems like HTC has followed some of the trends for the HTC One M9, the highly anticipated flagship of 2015. Here are all the improvements.
Performance and Specs
2015 will be the year of the 64-bit chipsets. HTC is following that trend, and adding a Snapdragon 810, octa core processor in the HTC One M9. With clocking speed of 2 GHz per core, the HTC One M9 will be vastly speedier than the HTC One M8. Even better, the RAM of the phone is bumped up to 3 GB, which should allow for some more multitasking without hassles.
HTC has learned its lesson. The biggest downside of the HTC One M8 was the rear camera. With an ultrapixel sensor, the phone delivered blurry snaps. However, the HTC One M9 will use a state of the art 20-MP sensor for the rear camera, with possible optical image stabilization. The company will continue to use the ultrapixel sensor, but for the front facing camera, as the technology allows for more light. Given the fact the front camera lacks a flash, more light will come in handy for selfies in low light conditions.
More battery capacity is always welcome. HTC is bumping the battery from 2600 mAh for the HTC One M8 to a 2900 mAh battery for the HTC One M9. Given the fact the processor is more energy efficient, and the display stays the same resolution, the One M9 should provide a lot more juice for the users.
The BoomSound speakers are already one of the best features of HTC’s flagship, as they deliver probably the best sound experience on the smartphone market. However, even the best can use some boost. HTC has teased that even better BoomSound speakers will be present in the One M9.
