Apple took the spotlight recently with their brand new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus models and Samsung is trying to regain their foothold in the smartphone race with their freshly released Samsung Galaxy Note 4.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 can boast of a huge, 5.7 inch large quad-HD display with 2560×1440 resolution. This is slightly larger than the display we have seen on Apple’s iPhone 6 Plus, which features a 5.5 inch large display with 1920×1080 resolution. While the resolution is slightly lower on the iPhone 6 Plus, it is not really noticeable to the naked eye, as the display itself is 0.2 inches smaller. However, the new Samsung Galaxy Note 4 does feature a quad-HD display that is really great and pleasant to look at.
Cameras are comparable as well, and they are pretty good on both of the devices. The new Samsung Galaxy note 4 has a 16 MP camera that is really comparable to the one we have seen on the iPhone 6 Plus. Generally, Samsung never had cameras that we could admire, but they have always delivered cameras that were more than good enough for everyday use. However, with the Galaxy Note 4, Samsung has obviously turned a new page, at least when it comes to their cameras and they have delivered a really impressive camera. While they are comparable, the camera on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 beats the one that is featured on iPhone 6 Plus and even the one that LG G3 has. If you are trying to make up your mind on which of the two phones you should get, it has to be noted that the iPhone 6 Plus has some advantages over the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 when it comes to camera. Colors on the photos taken with the iPhone 6 Plus are much more accurate than those that are taken with the Galaxy Note 4, and the photos taken in low-light conditions have much less noise.
Design wise, iPhone 6 Plus is 7.1 mm thin, while the Galaxy Note 4 is 8.5 mm thin, and unless you are a fan of thicker phones, iPhone 6 Plus is a winner here. The difference may be only 1.4 mm (which is almost unnoticeable when looking at the phone), but you can certainly feel the difference, especially if you have smaller hands. Even though the iPhone 6 Plus has a slightly smaller screen than the Galaxy Note 4, it is actually a bit longer. iPhone 6 Plus is 158 mm long, while the Galaxy Note 4 is 154 mm long, which makes the iPhone 6 Plus 3 % longer than the Note 4. When it comes to build quality, iPhone 6 Plus really looks and feels like a premium phone. It has an aluminum unibody build, which really feels and looks great, especially when compared to the Note 4’s “leather plastic” build.
Overall, both devices are amazing, and it seems that it comes down to which OS you prefer. If you used Android devices before, and if you are familiar with the OS, definitely go for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, a great phone with great features! However, if you are a fan of iOS, and you already own a couple of devices that operate on iOS (especially if you have content on iTunes) then the choice is clear, iPhone 6 Plus is the phone for you. As always, choosing a phone which will beast suit your needs is a matter of preference, and do not let others choose the phone you are going to use, check them both out, and see which one you like more before you decide to make your purchase.
