The people at 343 industries have confirmed that Halo 5 Guardians will indeed allow spectator mode so that you can watch your friends in action and this will also be streamed on Twitch so that people could be part of the ongoing action.
But, when it comes to watching games live, there’s always the issue where players would use voice chat to easily warn their friends of impending danger and change the game in their favor.
While this cannot be considered to be the same as using cheat codes to get infinite lives and other accessories, it definitely is cheating especially if one team continues to win all the time because of the support provided by the spectators. Instead of spoiling the live relay, the developer’s team has come up with a really unique and practical idea to solve this.
While it is known that Halo 5 Guardians will have a spectator mode, 343 industries recently added that in order to avoid cheating, the live feed will be delayed by a few moments so that there is no opportunity for friends to help their buddies know all about an enemy around the corner. Confirming this feature, Josh Holmes, producer of Halo games, said that the spectator mode would be a huge addition that would make it popular among the eSports community. He said, “The spectator mode is a huge addition for players and with websites like Twitch, it is definitely going to be a valuable new addition that players could make use of right from the beta channel.”
“You can go online to watch your friends play, spectate each game and even comment. There’s also the option to view the game in different camera angles once the match is over. The concept is very similar to how sports are viewed in the highlights after an intense game and it will act as a saved footage that anyone could watch at a later time,” he added.
eSports Friendly Game
Holmes added that spectator mode for Halo 5 Guardians beta will encourage eSports experts to choose the game for their matches. 343 industries have already initiated the Halo Championship series. During the beta, all seven maps and promised games modes, will not be available immediately on launch but will be rolled out throughout the coming days. There will also be a voting system that allows players to vote on the best weapon, best map and so on.
