Mobile industry has been flooded with a range of smartphones from various companies.
A plethora of smartphone manufacturing companies has developed handsets tending to the requirements of the masses. The mobile industry if overloaded with handsets ranging from premium to average looking devices. Regardless, the mid-range devices have become more popular with the masses. A major reason for medium range smartphones to become so popular is affordability and feature-rich handsets. Consequently, the mobile manufacturing units aim to provide people with desirable medium range devices.
Smartphone manufacturing companies like Xiaomi and Lava designed medium range handsets, which caters the people with premium smartphone feeling. These devices are easily affordable by the people. The Xiaomi Mi3 and Lava Iris Pro 30 Plus handsets are both rich in features and come easily affordable prices. The 2014 August released Lava Iris Pro30 Plus smartphone offers latest offerings in comparison to last year’s Xiaomi Mi3 handset.
The Xiaomi Mi3 smartphone has laid emphasis on the design aspect as well, apart from pricing. The curved edges of the handset provide a firm grip to the user. In addition, the sharp edged design of top and bottom comprises of slim bezels. The thin bezels of the handset add to its screen size of the handset.
Conversely, the Iris Pro 30 Plus handset from Lava fails to cast an impression on the user similar to its counterpart. The Lava handset is not thin as compared to most smartphones in similar price segment. The capacitative touchscreen keys along with lower bezels consuming huge amount of space on the phone caters to the thickness of the handset.
The 5-inch IPS screen of the Xiaomi Mi3 handset offers 1080p of resolution. The superior resolution and screen specs gave the handset overnight stardom. Conversely, the Iris Pro 30 Plus handset from Lava comprises of a compact design equipped with a 4.7-inch screen, offering a decent resolution of 720p.
The Xiaomi Mi3 screen is adequately protected with the branded Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating. On the other hand, the Lava Iris Pro 30 Plus display comes with Dragon Trail Glass protective coating.
A responsive quad-core processing unit, set to run at top velocity of 1.5GHz accompanied with 1GB of decent RAM configuration comes equipped in the Lava handset. Likewise, the Xiaomi Mi3 device consists of Qualcomm based decent Snapdragon chip coupled with a quad-core processing unit. The processor is clocked at a top frequency of 2.3GHz. In addition, a bigger 2GB of RAM makes sure the handset functions smoothly and flawlessly.
The Iris Pro 30 Plus handset from Lava offers only 16GB of internal storage capacity. In fact, the lower internal storage capacity specification is a disappointment for the user who relishes owning a smartphone with high-end spec sheet. Accordingly, the handset is not ideal for playing heavy games. This invariably would affect the functionality of the smartphone. Moreover, installing heavy games would be a problem as it might consume more space.
Regardless, the Lava smartphone incorporates a memory expansion slot, which is lacking in the Xiaomi Mi3 smartphone. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi Mi3 smartphone comes in two internal storage capacity variants – 16 and 64 Giga Bytes.
