Micromax Canvas 2.2 A114 vs. Moto E – Intuitive Experience Offered at an Affordable Price

Micromax, a leading Indian smartphone manufacturer, has released the Canvas 2.2 A114 smartphone at an affordable price. The $299.99 smartphone comes equipped with the latest features and a powerful spec sheet to give other companies a run for their money. However, with such a high-end spec sheet, the smartphone gets a berth in the premium segment. Stacking up the Micromax handset against that of Motorola’s Moto E, we are in for an interesting smartphone battle.

The Moto E comes with decent features and spec sheet available at a competent price. The smartphone from Motorola is out to give a tough competition to the already established handsets in the market.

Processor and Memory

A MediaTek chipset along with a powerful quad core Cortex A7 processor powers the Micromax Canvas 2.2 A114 handset. The Cortex A7 cores provide the handset with effective power management. The four cores of the processor run efficiently at a speed of 1.3GHz. The powerful processor under the hood offers the handset a smooth functionality. In terms of memory, the handset incorporates 4GB of internal memory coupled with a RAM of 1GB, which can be expandable up to 32GB.

On the other hand, the Moto E smartphone comprises of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 Cortex A7 dual core processor, clocked at a speed of 1.2GHz. The processor has the competency to perform simple functions with ease, but falters when given rigorous tasks. The smartphone comes equipped with 4GB of internal memory, expandable up to 32GB through microSD card.

Operating System and Battery

The dual SIM Micromax Canvas A114 smartphone comprises of the Android version 4.2.2 operating system. It incorporates supplementary features such as proximity sensor, light and accelerometer. The handset comes equipped with a standard battery unit of 2000 mAh, catering a talk time up to seven hours.

On the other hand, the Moto E comes equipped with the Android version 4.4.2 KitKat OS. The handset offers the user with a stock Android experience. Moto E would please both the newbie and the experienced campaigner. Motorola introduces the Motorola Alert app and the Motorola Migrate app in the Moto E smartphone. The Micromax Canvas 2.2 A114 smartphone offers a decent smartphone experience. However, the smartphone lacks in terms of resolution and a decent battery unit. Regardless, the price at which it is available, it should not be much of a problem for the user. On the other hand, the Moto E caters a simple, intuitive and straightforward experience to the user, all at a reasonable price.
