Moto G vs. LG Optimus L9 – What Are the Key Differences Between These Devices?

There have been a lot of rumors regarding both the above smartphones before they were released and most of them didn’t come out to be true.

The rumors were released by LG and Motorola in order to compete with some more established manufacturers out there and now that the phones are available, it’s interesting to see how good exactly they are.

The LG Optimus L9 has a 4.7 inch large LCD touchscreen that offers 530×960 pixel resolution. Viewing angles are more than satisfying and the display is one of the stronger points when it comes to this device. The Moto G is similar to the Moto X that came out before it, but the display has been largely improved. The Moto G ships with a 4.5 inch large LCD display that has a 720×1280 resolution, which is better than the resolution that the display featured on the LG Optimus L9 has. Not only does this device offer really great viewing angles, but the brightness adjustment works really well when the display gets exposed to the direct sunlight.

The Optimus L9 is almost entirely made out of plastic, which results in the device being really light. The side buttons are positioned nicely, though the volume button could be a bit larger. This device is really pleasant to hold due to its weight (125 grams), thickness (9.1 mm) and width (68.2 mm), and it fits in any pocket. The Moto X doesn’t fall behind in terms of design. It has a curved back panel which makes the device fit perfectly in your palm. It is a bit thicker and heavier than the Optimus L9, but not by a lot; so it is not a bad thing. The Moto X comes in a variety of different colors, so you can choose one that fits your personality the best.

The Optimus L9 has a dual-core processor that is paired with 1 GB of RAM. These specs will ensure smooth surface operation, but do not expect it to handle some of the more demanding applications that can be installed. The Moto X is very similar to the Optimus L9 in terms of specs as it also features a dual-core processor and 1 GB of available RAM memory. Just like the Optimus L9, it will not handle more demanding operations very well, but these specs are more than enough for a wide variety of less demanding apps out there. The users should not be discouraged at all since the most popular applications that are available on the market are not demanding at all and they will work perfectly on both the devices.

Final Thoughts

These devices are very similar in all of the aspects. However, the Moto X has a nice design and the number of available colors is a nice touch. They come highly recommended due to their low price, especially to those that do not want a smartphone with amazing specs that they will not fully use.
