With the acceptability of smartphones all over the world, companies have come up with budget smartphones.
Analyzing the fact that a huge number of individuals maintain a specific budget, companies are launching phones that meet the budgets of the users. Two such budget-smartphones are the Motorola Moto G2 and the BlackBerry Q5. So when these two phones are set side by side for comparison, which one wins the hearts of the audience? Let’s check it out!
Design is an important factor for consideration, when it comes to budget smartphones. Measuring 120x66x10.8mm, the BlackBerry Q5 has curvy edges, rendering a smart design. In contrast, the Moto G2 has dimensions of 141.5×70.7x11mm, with more curved edges. Although the Motorola G2 has a larger body, the BlackBerry Q5 has the touch and type feature, which is appreciated by thousands of business users. Apart from it, the BlackBerry Q5 weighs 120g while the Moto G2 hits the scale at 149g. The difference of 29g makes the BlackBerry Q5 the preferable device, as users prefer lighter phones to hold in their hands. An additional feature present in the BlackBerry Q5 is the QWERTY keypad.
Winner: BlackBerry Q5
The Moto G2 offers a 5 inch touch-screen with Multitouch feature while the BlackBerry phone presents a relatively smaller screen of 3.1 inches. The resolutions of the Motorola device and the BlackBerry Q5 are 720×1280 pixels and 720×720 pixels respectively. However, you can view better quality images, texts and videos in the Blackberry Q5, because it consists of 328 PPI in comparison to the Moto G2’s 294 PPI. Overall, the Motorola device is preferable by users who like a larger screen, while the BlackBerry Q5 is suitable for people who are familiar with the hardy, QWERTY keypad. Hence, both phones are good on their own grounds.
This is a major difference in the performance of the two phones. While the BlackBerry Q5 runs on the version v10 of its signature BlackBerry OS, the Moto G2 features the popular Android v4.4.4 (KitKat). Apart from it, the Motorola G2 offers more power, 1.2GHz Quad Core processor; as the BlackBerry device runs on the 1.2GHz Dual Core processor. However, BlackBerry comes with 2GB RAM, which is double the capacity of the Motorola Moto G2’s 1GB RAM.
Camera and Battery
BlackBerry Q5 has a 5MP camera with autofocus, while the Motorola Moto G2 comes with an 8MP camera with lots of additional features like Geo Tagging, Panorama and Face detention. The presence of a flash is found in both the budget smartphones. Adding to it, both the smartphones feature a 2MP front camera.
When it comes to the battery, the Moto G2 contains a 2070 mAh Li-Ion battery, whereas the BlackBerry Q5 is powered by a 2180 mAh Li-Ion battery. Hence, the BlackBerry handset can be accessed continually for longer time.
Winner: Tie, Motorola Moto G2 (Powerful Rear Camera) and Blackberry Q5 (Better Battery)
With equally powerful features, it can be said that the Moto G2 and the BlackBerry Q5 give head-to-head competition to each other. However, being budget smartphones, price plays a vital role. As the price of the BlackBerry Q5 is slightly lesser than the Moto G2, we can conclude that the BlackBerry model wins this comparison of two budget-smartphones.
