The Finnish Company released the highly rumored Nokia 1520, which brought the phablet among the Windows Phones line up.
However, what would be the fate of the Nokia Lumia 1020 handset, which is renowned as a camera phone in the smartphone arena? The point to ponder upon would be, whether the Lumia 1520 phablet set aside the 40MP camera phone rudely, in order to become a center of attraction for Windows Phones? Lumia 1520 – A bigger handset
The Lumia 1520 handset is bigger than the 1020 handset. The 1520 measures 162.8mm x 85.4mm x 8.7mm in stature, width and thickness, as compared to the dimensions of 130.4mm x 71.4mm x 10.4mm of the Nokia 1020 handset. The 1520, being a bigger handset is also heavier than the Nokia 1020. The 1520 weighs around 209 grams, as compared to the 158 gram weight of the Nokia 1020.
Lumia 1520 – Has sharper display
The 6-inch display of the Nokia 1520 comes with a hefty difference, as compared to the decent 4.5-inch display of the Nokia 1020. Both the handsets encompass Clear Black technology, but the Nokia 1020 offers AMOLED display, as compared to the LCD screen offered by the 1520. The Lumia 1020 comes with a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels, offering a pixel density of 334-ppi. The 1520 offers a superior resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a superior pixel density of 367-ppi.

Changed User Interface
The user interface has been enhanced slightly to accommodate the bigger display of the Lumia 1520 handset. The incorporation of third column on the Home Screen of the 1520 enables the user to add important Live Tiles on the display.
The Lumia 1520 encompasses the latest Windows Phone software. It is inclusive of customized ringtones, driver mode and Bing updates. The 1520 incorporates the Nokia Beamer, enabling the user to share the display, with other web-enabled displays. It also incorporates a few changes in the photos applications.
However, the Finnish Company has confirmed to bring back the aforementioned features in the Nokia Black update in other Lumia series handsets. Therefore, apart from the triple-column view, the 1020 is expected to come with similar features, as offered by Lumia 1520.
Battery and Storage Capacity
Nokia Lumia 1520 incorporates a larger 3400 mAh battery, as compared to the 2000 mAh battery unit of the Lumia 1020.
The Lumia 1520 is a quicker device. It includes the latest Qualcomm based Snapdragon 800 chipset, supported with a quad core processor. The four cores running at 2.2GHz are coupled with a RAM of 2GB. Meanwhile, the Lumia 1020 incorporates a Qualcomm based Snapdragon S4 chipset. The chip gains support from a dual core processor, with both cores clocked at 1.5GHz of speed. The 1020 also enjoys a decent RAM of 2GB.
In the memory department, the 1020 comes in two internal memory variants of 32GB and 64GB. Meanwhile, the Lumia 1520 offers 32GB of internal memory, along with external memory card slot for memory expansion up to 64GB.
