Out of dozens of smartphone companies in the market today, HTC and Nokia are the leading companies in the industry.

Although several companies have come up with high-end smartphones, the Premium-level phones from Nokia and HTC such as Nokia Lumia 1320 and HTC Desire 616 respectively raise the level of competition. So how do the two high-end beasts, Nokia Lumia 1320 and HTC Desire 616, perform against each other? Let’s check out!


HTC Desire 616 is a slim smartphone with sleek design and slightly-curved edges. It has the dimensions of 142×71.9×9.19mm and weighs 150g. On the other hand, the Nokia Lumia 1320 is a bulky design with a big screen and well-curved edges. The gadget measures 164.2×85.9×9.8mm and weighs 220g. Therefore, the HTC Desire 616 is 70g lighter and 6 percent slimmer than the Nokia Lumia 1720; making the HTC device more preferable to carry in pockets and hold in hands.

When it comes to color availability, the HTC Desire 616 is available in White and Black premium colors. The colors render a premium design to the phone. The Nokia Lumia 1320 has relatively more color availability as it comes in Yellow, White, Black and Red versions. There is a bright, smooth touch in all the available colors.

The screen size of HTC Desire 616 is 5-inch, while the same for Nokia Lumia 1320 is an inch larger than its rival. The 6-inch screen renders an appreciable platform for viewing texts, images and videos. However, as the resolution of both the smartphones reads 720×1280 pixels, the HTC device provides a better quality of display. This is because the resolution is divided as 294 PPI in the HTC Desire 616, in comparison to Nokia Lumia 1320’s 246 PPI. Therefore, the massive-screen lovers give the winning point to Nokia Lumia 1320, whereas people who prefer quality consider HTC Desire 616 as the winner.

Software and Operating System

The HTC Desire 616 runs on 1.4GHz Octa Core processor whereas the Nokia Lumia 1320 is powered by a 1.7GHz Dual Core processor. Both the devices consist of 1GB RAM to execute tasks quickly. When it comes to the Operating System, HTC Desire 616 features the Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) while the Nokia Lumia 1320 runs on Windows Phone 8. In terms of storage, the inbuilt storage of HTC and Nokia respectively are 4GB and 8GB. Adding to this, HTC Desire 616 is expandable up to 32GB while the Nokia Lumia 1320 can be expanded up to 64GB.

The HTC Desire 616 provides an excellent scope for photography with its 8 MP rear camera and 2 MP front cameras, respectively. In addition to this, there are several features like Face detection and Touch to focus along with an LED Flash that enhance the quality of images. On the contrary, the Nokia Lumia 1320 features a 5 MP rear and a 0.3 MP front camera with LED flash.

With the difference of about $65 between the two devices, HTC Desire 616 is more preferable by budget users. Hence, crossing the performance level of Nokia Lumia 1320 by a step, the HTC Desire 616 wins this battle of the big-sized beasts with a score of 2-1 in terms of features and specifications.
