After a major break, the Finnish Company entered the smartphone market with a bang. Microsoft bought Nokia and gave it a changeover.
The release of Nokia’s flagship device, the Lumia 1020 is a great example of the Company coming back to establish a firm footing in the smartphone arena. The device comes equipped with a massive camera. The Nokia Lumia 900 handset is yet another device with superb specs. Let us stack up the two devices against each other to give you a better understanding of the two variants from Nokia.

Interface and Functionality
Nokia Lumia 900
The Windows 7.5 Mango operating system runs the Nokia Lumia 900 handset. The OS provides Lumia 900 the required character and enhances its overall personality. However, the Windows Phone operating system may not be able to compete with the depth of personalization as offered by the Android based OS. Regardless, the WP operating system offers the user with enough firepower to remain engaged in the handset.
In terms of the functionality, the Lumia 900 handset offers a mixture of basic features. The Lumia 900 offers similar functionality as that of its siblings. The Lumia 900 comes equipped with a massive display, offering a decent typing experience. The message typing experience is similar to what is provided by the Lumia 1020 handset. The handset comprises of predictive text and auto-correct features.
Nokia Lumia 1020
The Lumia 1020 handset offers the user with the latest Windows 8 operating system. The latest OS provides the 1020 handset from Nokia an upper edge over the Lumia 900 device. Regardless, the Home Screen retains the basic appearance as that of its siblings running the Windows Phone OS. However, the Lumia 1020 comes company-fitted with Live Tiles feature, which provides considerable information to the user.
The WP 8 operating system is basic and offers limited customization options; relocating the Home Screen Tiles. Typing messages on the huge display of the Lumia 1020 handset is fun and easy. However, the protruding camera on the back of the handset may offer some disturbance in handling the device. It may take time getting used to it.
Processor and Memory
The Qualcomm based single core Snapdragon APQ8055 chipset, running at a frequency of 1.4GHz powers the Lumia 900 device. The processor is coupled with a lower RAM of 512MB. Despite the handset coming equipped with a single core processor, the handset offers a smooth and lag-free performance. In terms of performance, the single core processor of the Lumia 900 handset comes at par with the quad core and dual core processors, equipped with other handsets.
The Lumia 900 incorporates a 16GB internal memory variant along with external microSD card slot for memory expansion.
On the other hand, the Lumia 1020 device encompasses an enhanced Snapdragon S4 Plus chipset from Qualcomm. The chipset is coupled with a dual core processor, clocked at a frequency of 1.5GHz and a superior RAM of 2GB. The configuration ensures both simple and arduous tasks are handled with ease.
In the memory department, the Lumia1020 offers the user with 32GB of internal memory. The lack of external memory card slot for memory enhancement would be a disappointment for the memory craving users.
