Here is a comparison between two devices that aren’t exactly someone’s top picks when they’re making a whislist. However, that doesn’t mean that these devices aren’t worth looking into, or at least giving a shot. Both Oppo and OnePlus are on the rise, and are steadily becoming very healthy premium smartphone alternatives, of an equal quality.
Design and Display
The Oppo N3 comes with 0.39 inches in thickness and a total weight of 192 grams. That makes the device not only thicker, but also heavier than its competitor, the OnePlus One, which measures 0.35 inches in thickness and weighs 162 grams.
The screen on the Oppo N3 measures 5.5 inches and comes with a 1080 x 1920 resolution. The device uses IPS LCD technology for its screen, while the OnePlus One, which also features a 1080 x 1920 resolution on a 5.5 inch screen, uses LTPS LCD.
Hardware and Software
The processing power behind both these devices is represented by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 Krait 400. The two units aren’t identical, however, as the OnePlus One comes with a 2.5 GHz clock speed, whereas the Oppo N3 comes with a clock speed of 2.3 GHz. The OnePlus One manages to detach itself when it comes to RAM, as it features 3 GB of RAM, which is more than the Oppo N3’s 2 GB of RAM. In terms of internal storage, it’s a pretty fair trade, as the Oppo N3 comes with only one variant which has 32 GB, and support for microSD, while the other device has no support for microSD, but two variants of 16 and 64 GB.
The two devices use different extra layers, but at the base, they are both Google’s Android KitKat. The OnePlus One device comes with a CyanogenMod 11S tweak, whereas the Oppo N3 comes with the Colour OS v2.0 on top of Android.
The Oppo N3 leads the way in terms of cameras, as it beats its opponent’s 13 MP rear facing lens. The Oppo N3 comes with a 16 MP rear camera, and other than that it features dual LED, just like its competitor. With a front facing lens just as powerful as the rear one, the Oppo N3 will get you some good looking photos, no doubt. The OnePlus One also has a front facing camera, smaller however, with only 5 MP.
The battery that comes with the Oppo N3 has a total capacity of 3000 mAh, while the OnePlus One has 3100 mAh battery, so even with the powerful unit inside the Oppo, the One still manages to take the lead.
While the OnePlus One is already out, the Oppo N3 is set for a November release.
