Plunder Pirates: Tips and Cheats for Designing a Base

Plunder Pirates: Tips and Cheats for Designing a Base By – Oct 28, 2014 13 0 SHARE

Plunder Pirates is a massively multiplayer online strategy game developed by Midoki. Currently, the title is available on iOS with Windows and Android versions coming in 2015.

Gameplay is similar to Clash of Clans, although the game features a rotating camera and full 3D graphics. Players build a defensible base and upgrade their pirates. From there, they attack other bases and defend their own for gold. Building a well-designed base with strong defenses ensures a player’s success.

Keep Certain Structures Outside Of The Main Walls

When players build a base, they often use a main wall to enclose everything. Unfortunately, doing so guarantees absolute devastation should an opponent break through. Only the most important structures should be placed behind the walls. This includes the Pirate Hall, resources, and towers. By keeping other structures outside the walls, players can better defend what really matters when it comes to survival. Too many players lose everything once the wall is breached.

Speaking of Walls, Start Building More Chambers!

Walls are key to defending important structures in Plunder Pirates. Obviously, that’s a bit of a no-brainer for most people. Each player should create multiple chambers involving separate wall enclosures. It’s possible to enclose individual structures in their own walls, and doing to makes it harder to breach walls. If an opponent has to breach multiple sets of walls, then they’re more likely to be thwarted before they succeed. It’s a simple yet effective tactic that opponents will think twice about attacking.

Extend The Beach As Far As Possible

When a player adds structures onto the beach, they essentially grow their island larger. Doing so creates more defensible space. Likewise, it requires enemy pirates to traverse more ground before they reach vital structures. Therefore, extending the beach regularly ensures that towers have more time to take out enemies. Players that keep their islands small and tight often go down in battle faster than they’d like. More sand and space allows players to go on the offensive while still playing defense.

Always Check Your Island and Defenses for Weaknesses

In Plunder Pirates, no island is 100% defensible against every opponent. The fact of the matter is that each island has its own weaknesses. Players can identify such weaknesses and adjust their layout to address them. In doing so, a person can turn their weaknesses into their strengths. Perhaps more towers can be placed in one area to provide more defense. Sometimes structures might make more sense in a completely different place. Either way, changing things up regularly is important.

Design a Base That’s Built To Last

Many first time Plunder Pirates players find themselves losing bases after every pirate attack. Some players don’t lay down enough towers, and others fail to use smart design tactics.

he previously mentioned tips and tricks can help novice and veteran players alike. Sure, some of these tips might seem simple, but they’re proven to work. In the end, each player should design a base that can withstand multiple attacks from different angles. Players will otherwise find themselves losing constantly, and that takes the fun out of the game.

Don’t forget to go on offense from time to time, too!
