Expected Release Date
Late last year, a lot of industry experts believed that Roku 4 would be launched during the CES 2015. However, this did not happen. Right now, a lot of people believe that it will be launched by March 2015. Others believe that the launch will be delayed, and that Roku enthusiast will have to wait until May 2015. What is clear is that Roku 4 will be released very soon. This is because retailers and the website have significantly reduced the prices of the Roku LT and the previous three generations. It is safe to assume that retailers are working hard to clear their stock before the latest device arrives in the market.
Roku 4 Specifications
Very few hints have been given so far, but experts are working with what they have to provide information on the expected specifications. During CES 2015, Roku executives announced that all their devices from now on would support 4K Ultra HD streaming. Therefore, it is safe to assume that the Roku 4 will have this feature. In fact, the news that is making rounds all over the industry is that the new device will actually be called Roku 4K. It is also expected that the device will have an updated processor and more RAM. The smartphone application will be updated, and so will the User Interface and Main Menu.
Roku LT And Roku 1 Will Be Discontinued
Roku LT is an inexpensive and easy-to-use streaming device from Roku. It offers the same type of content as other Roku devices, but the video resolution will not go beyond 720p. It also does not have a card slot or an Ethernet port. Rumor has it that the LT will be discontinued, and so will the first generation Roku.
Expected Inclusions And Features
Though nothing has been announced yet, there are a number of credible speculations flying around in the industry. It is rumored that in the new Roku 4K, Amazon and Netflix will have 4K support. There will also be a new and improved remote that will have several more buttons that offer a number of different services. There are also some people who believe that Roku 4K will have a gaming controller so that consumers will no longer have to use the remote control.
The many news, rumors and updates are a testament to just how much everybody is waiting for the release of the Roku 4. This does not come as a surprise, as Roku are known for developing the best and most reliable streaming devices. Customers can expect an enhanced viewing experience with the help of the various Roku partners.
