Mid-Range Range Round-Up- Galaxy Grand Prime vs LG L Bello vs Lumia 730 vs Moto G (2014)
Some really cool new premium devices with a really jaw-dropping price tag have been recently released, and more of that nature are expected to arrive before the year is over. However, that’s not everybody’s cup of tea, as those handsets aren’t for every pocket. That doesn’t mean that you shouldn’y have a smartphone, as you have a lot of choice to go by. In this comparison we are giving you four good examples of devices that can be reliable and affordable at the same time.
Starting with the smallest screen, we have the Lumia 730 with its 4.7 inch unit and 1280 x 720 resolution. The pixel density for this device is of 316 ppi, and the protection is assured by the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 layer. The resolution for the other handsets differ, but they all come on 5 inch screens. The Moto G comes with a 294 ppi pixel density and a resolution close to the one on the Nokia while the LG L Bello features a 480 x 854 resolution on its FWVGA display. The pixel density for the latter is 196 ppi. The Grand Prime has a 540 x 960 resolution and a 220 ppi pixel density.
Hardware and Software
The processing power is similar on these handsets, says GSM Arena, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 Cortex A7 CPU installed on a 1.2 GHz clock speed. The Bello has a slightly faster processor, at 1.3 GHz. The GPU responsible for the graphic quality on all these devices is the Adreno 306.
The Grand Prime has its own agenda however, with a different processor in the form of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad core Cortex A53, which has a 1.2 GHz clock speed as well. The GPU remains the same however, as the Adreno 306 isn’t missing from this device either.
The Nokia Lumia 730 features the Windows Phone 8.1 operating system from Microsoft, while all the other handsets use the Android KitKat operating system from Google.
The lumia 730 distances itself from the herd once again, this time in terms of camera quality. The Windows Phone device offers a 6.7 MP camera on the rear, packing Carl Zeiss optics, while the front facing camera has 5 MP of its own. With this phone, you can easily record 1080p content.
The other devices come with an 8 MP camera on the rear all around, the front facing camera being the only one that differs in terms of MP. The Grand Prime from Samsung features a 5 MP camera on the front panel, while the Moto G settles for 2 MP. The least fancy front facing lens pertains to the LG L Bello which only houses 1 MP on its frontal panel.
The Moto G from Motorola comes with a non removable 2070 mAh battery while the other devices feature either 2200 mAh, like in the case of the Lumia 730, or 2600 mAh for the Grand Prime. The LG L Bello comes with a 2540 mAh battery unit.
You can get the Moto G, LG L Bello, Grand Prime and Lumia 730 for about $180, $232, $246 and $529 respectively.
