The South Korean multinational electronics company, Samsung is the world’s largest information technology company by revenue, and in more recent years they have diversified into consumer electronics.

They are the biggest manufacturer of smartphones and mobile phones in the world and their Galaxy range of devices has helped them achieve this status.

Their Galaxy S5 is an Android Smartphone which was unveiled in February 2014 while the S5 Plus is set for release in November 2014. The S5 Plus looks much like the S5 and actually comes with very similar specs such as the 5′ 1080p Super Amoled screen, the 2,800 mAh battery and the 2GB of RAM.

Good Cameras with the S5 and S5 Plus

The Galaxy S5 is made from plastic which some people don’t like, but it has a textured rear cover to allow for a better grip. The phone also comes with IP67 certification for water and dust resistance. The S5 Plus is also a water resistant phone. The S5 comes complete with new security features as well as the fantastic health feature ; a built in heart rate monitor, and an updated 16 megapixel rear facing camera. The Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus also comes with a high resolution camera of 16 megapixels.

For all this the Galaxy S5 has received many positive reviews, with users of the phone appreciating the improvements to its display, its camera, software and its design; available in Charcoal Black, gold, blue and a shimmery white shade. This feature rich phone its removable rear cover, comes with a home button in the center which contains a swipe-based fingerprint reader.

S5 Plus Sports the faster Snapdragon 805 Processor

The S5 is powered by a 2.5 GHz quad core Snapdragon 801 system-on-chip and its battery and software contains an ‘Ultra Power Saving’ mode which is for extending the life of the battery. The Galaxy S5 Plus has moved to the Snapdragon 805 chipset which is Qualcomm’s quickest and most efficient chipset , and this replaces the Snapdragon 801 in the original S5. Getting back to the Galaxy S5s battery, with the Ultra Power Saving on, an S5 with 10% charge remaining can last for an extra 24 hours in standby mode. The S5s software is Android 4.4.2 KitKat and Samsung’s TouchWiz.

Apart from being visually identical to the S5, with the S5 Plus, having the 805 inside means that the S5 Plus is the fastest Android smartphone there is and this is a huge drawcard for the phone. The S5 Plus also has a much better 4G performance compared with support for ‘LTE Advanced’. This brings the possibility for 300 Mbps downloads on the LTE Advanced networks.

The Fastest Smartphone

Both the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the S5 Plus weigh in at 145g. The Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus is priced at $750 with the S5 being slightly less. The S5’s dimensions are 142.00 x 72.50 x 8.10 against the 1080×1920 of the S5 Plus. Customer reviews indicate that the Samsung Galaxy S5 is a superior superphone that meets the mark every time and which is worth snapping up but that the Galaxy S5 Plus has been well engineered and it is one of the world’s fastest smartphone innovations.

Powerful, light and fast with good video quality, this latest Android version is a little expensive for most consumers who say it is just like last year’s phones.
