Samsung Galaxy S5 vs iPhone 6 – Pricing and Specifications Comparison

The Samsung Galaxy S5 is the latest Smartphone to hit the market from Samsung.

Unlike most of the launches that have happened in recent months of this device will be the new flagship for the company. It will be competing against the upcoming iPhone, which has not been announced yet. Apple is expected to name this device as the iPhone 6 going with the recent trend. The Samsung Galaxy S5 has been much better than the Apple iPhone 5S in every possible regard.

However, one of the biggest advantages was the massive touchscreen display.

Major Change

Due to this respect, the Apple iPhone 6 is expected to feature a 4.5-inch display, while some rumors even claim that there would be a phablet version of this device with a 6-inch display. This would mark a significant change from the Apple philosophy under the late Steve Jobs. Jobs was extremely careful in not providing a phone with more than 3.5 inches of screen size since he felt that it would interfere with the user friendliness.

The iPhone 6 is expected to take care of this aspect of going for an edge-to-edge display, which has been rumored in this phone for quite a while. The use of this technology will enable Apple to provide a 4.5-inch unit without increasing the size of the phone.

Galaxy S5 Positive Aspects

Up until then, the S5 will be ruling the roost in the market with its 5.1-inch display, which is a slight step up from the 5-inch unit used in the previous flagship model. Apart from that, there are no major changes to the screen, which has disappointed some. Going by the amount of features Samsung has introduced its flagship models over the years; many were expecting the introduction of the 2K or 4K display in the S5.

However, it comes with the same full HD unit that did its job in the last generation.

Processing Power

One of the talking points of the upcoming iPhone 6 is the use of a 64-bit processor, which would enable Apple to unlock the potential of the phone even more. This was also rumored to be offered in the Galaxy S5, but Samsung has provided this phone with only the quad core unit. The rating of it has been slightly increased to make it more powerful than the Galaxy S4. The RAM, however, remains unchanged. Apple phones have always been very efficient at using RAM. Hence, the maximum that is expected to be present in the iPhone 6 is not more than 1.5 GB.

As far as memory goes, Galaxy S series has made some incredible strides in the last few years. The Galaxy S5 now comes with several memory variants along with the memory card support, which is not expected to come in the iPhone 6.

The 16 GB variants of the S5 are one of the priciest models in the market today at around $ 800. The iPhone 6 is expected to come at this price if not slightly higher for a similar variant.
