After the successful release of the Xperia Z1 smartphone, Sony got back on the tracks, ready to rumble with big guns such as Apple and Samsung.

The smaller version of the Xperia Z1 handset should not only be seen as an alternative to the flagship smartphone from Sony. The Xperia Z1 Compact is a competent smartphone, which would give other handsets a run for their money.
In comparison, the Xperia Z2 turns out to be another formidable challenge from Sony. The smartphone promises a high-end spec sheet along with a premium looking glass and metal design. Sony had its share of bad luck in the recent past, but at present, the company is doing great with its latest releases. The Z1 Compact handset comprises of a bigger lens of 27mm, enabling the camera to capture more scene.
Camera user interface: The camera user interface is user friendly, especially when clicking snaps using Auto Mode. It helps the user in picking up best settings automatically, depending on the scene the user is trying to capture. However, a Manual Mode allows the user to make use of a plethora of different settings. The camera comes equipped with a variety of shooting modes.
Image Quality: Images produced are lively, colorful and realistic. The handset offers great exposure, with images appearing natural and appealing. Images are superbly detailed. The Auto Mode offers high-quality images.
In low-lighting conditions, the image quality suffers a hamper. However, snaps taken indoors offer pleasing and realistic colors. The LED flash illuminates the scene pretty well.
Video Recording: The 1080p video capturing feature lacks detailing, but offers a smooth experience.
Sony Xperia Z2
Incorporating a 20.7MP snapper with G Lens technology, the Z2 smartphone is similar to its predecessor. It bears similar ½.3-inch size sensor with 1.1-micron size, offering detailed high-resolution images, similar to that of the Z1 Compact handset.
To be precise, the Z2 camera features are identical to the Z1 compact handset. It offers the user with similar user-friendly camera user interface. The handset offers a number of shooting modes with great image quality. Low-lighting images are a disappointment and video recording feature lack details.
The newly released Xperia Z2 comprises of similar camera features as that of the Xperia Z1 Compact. The only difference between the two handsets is in terms of their physical size. Those who were looking forward to own a compact handset with powerful hardware and software features, along with a decent camera, the Xperia Z1 Compact is the handset for them.
