The moment every iPhone owner has been waiting has finally come. The most expected feature, Voice Calling was added to WhatsApp for iOS, but after updating to 2.12.1, you will need to wait until it will be activated automatically. But don’t worry, all iOS users will make voice calls after the feature will be activated gradually in the following weeks. So, if you download the APK from WhatsApp’s website, be patient and wait until you will be able to make calls.
A few weeks ago, WhatsApp’s founder Brian Acton made an official statement about Voice Calling makings its way to iOS and he estimated that the version supporting it will be rolled out soon, without mentioning an exact date. Hearing the news, the fans couldn’t hide their excitement, but at the same time, they tried to estimate when will this feature come to their devices.
The 2.12.1 version brought not only Voice Calls, but other features as well. You can now share links, photos and videos from other applications to WhatsApp, but to be able to do that, click on the More button, select WhatsApp and change the order of the applications, how you want them to appear in Menu.
Also, you can crop, rotate and send multiple videos at once, and the photo or video can be selected from the camera roll. Another option is to edit contacts from the application and the rest of features are already known: free messages sent over wifi or 3G, group chats with up to 100, the possibility to personalize conversations with emoticons etc.
When registering to this application, you must specify your mobile number and the authorization code you’ll receive through a SMS text will be your ticket to WhatsApp. All the numbers from your phonebook that are registered to WhatsApp will be added to your list of contacts, so you won’t need to add contacts manually.
The moment you will have the Voice calling feature activated on your iPhone, you will use the internet to call your friends for free. There are some problems regarding the mobile data consumption, but the developers will improve this feature in time.
