Even if there is no official version of WhatsApp of iPad, there is a way to install WhatsApp on your iPad device.
WhatsApp is a very popular application available for iPhone, Android, Blackberry, Windows Phone devices and many more. The application uses your 3G or Wi-Fi connection to send and receive messages to your friends.
The bad part is that the application is not available for iPad or for the iPod touch. However, in this tutorial we will teach you how to install WhatsApp on your iPad without having to jailbreak it or spend any money in the process. Keep in mind that you will need an iPhone at some point to register the application.
Installing WhatsApp on an iPad that runs on iOS 8
Firstly, we will need to download the application, but of course you will not be allowed to install it directly on the iPad and this is why you’re going to use your Mac.
So while you’re using your Mac device, go to iTunes->iTunes Store and type WhatsApp in the search field. You will notice WhatsApp Messenger in the iPhone application list, but not under the iPad. However, ignore what it says and download the iPhone version and enter your password and it should download pretty fast on your Mac.
After that, open finder and search for your Music Folder. After that, you will go to iTunes ->Mobile Applications drag WhatsApp .ipa file to your desktop.
You can connect now your iPad to Mac, but instead of using iTunes to transfer files, you will use iFunbox. So, after you install iFunbox, open it and click on Install App. It will ask you for the file and you will go to your desktop and select the WhatsApp .ipa file. This will install WhatsApp on your iPad, but there is something you need to do in order to make it run.
Now, install a fresh WhatsApp on your iPhone, start it up and register a phone number (the one you will be using on the WhatsApp from your iPad).
TIP: We suggest you to get a new SIM card, so that you can use the number for the WhatsApp on your iPad.
You will then have to confirm the code that was sent to your number. After that unplug your iPad from the Mac and Plug the iPhone instead and open iFunbox. Click on User Applications located in the left upper side (below the iPhone entry) and double click on the WhatsApp icon and copy the Library and Documents folders on your Mac’s desktop. This contains your registration data and it will need to be copied to your iPad device.
This is why you will need to unplug the iPhone and plug your iPad back. Go once again to iFunbox, click on User Applications and then on the WhatsApp icon. After that, replace the Library and Documents folders that are there with the ones you just copied on your desktop.
After that, you’re done and you will be able to use WhatsApp on your iPad without any problems.
