WhatsApp is a very appreciated application, being downloaded more than a billion times from the Google Play and receiving a rating score of 4.4 from its users. The popularity of WhatsApp is even greater now that the Voice Calling feature can be activated by everyone who installed the latest version. The only problem is that currently, this feature can be enabled only if the user receives a call from someone who activated it previously in a similar way.
When the users heard about the Voice Calling feature, they started upgrading to the latest version, and the most privileged ones were the Android, iOS and Windows Phone users, but since the application is compatible with Blackberry, Nokia S40 and Symbian phones, the Voice Calling feature can be activated on these devices as well. The latest versions can be downloaded from the official WhatsApp website, but usually, there are posted new beta versions, while Google Play, iTunes and the Windows Phone store are offering stable versions. If you have a limited data plan, get the update from whatsapp.com/download. On this website, you’ll see the Download button somewhere at the top of the page.
Tap on it and choose your smartphone model (iPhone, Android, Blackberry, Nokia S40, Nokia Symbian, Windows Phone). After selecting the model, you’ll be redirected to a page from where you can download the latest update. If you have an Android device, you’ll install v 2.12.7, the iPhone users can install v 2.11.16, the Blackberry users will install v 2.11.1317.2 and the Windows Phone users will get the 2.11.670.0 version.
If you’re downloading these updates to a computer, you’ll need a USB cable to transfer them to your smartphones, or you can use another connectivity mode (WiFi or Bluetooth). The file will be saved on your SD card and after locating and clicking on it, you’ll be required to activate “install application from external sources”. Follow the simple instructions to install the APK file and when the installation is complete and you’ll run the application, ask your friends who have the Voice Calling feature active, to call you. Shortly after receiving the voice call, you’ll see a change: an extra tab named Call, besides Chats and Contacts.
