It is rumored that Apple is going to release three different models of the iPhone 7 in the second half of 2015, most likely sometime in September 2015.
iPhone 7 in three variants
According to Focus Taiwan, Apple will most likely refresh their iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in 2015 with a new iPhone 7 that will come in three size variants. Two of them will feature the same screen sizes that the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have, which are 4.7inches and 5.5inches, while the third one will have a screen of 4inches.
There is a possibility that the name of the device that will feature the same screens sizes of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, will be iPhone 6S/iPhone 6S Plus, but there is nothing official for now. We believe that there is a high possibility that Apple will decide to just go for the iPhone 7 name and end the iPhone 6 series. Reports say that Apple is going to change their iPhones’ supply company from Foxconn to Pegatron.
According to Focus Taiwan, Pegatron will become the main company that will handle their assembly, with over 50% of the 4.7inch allocation. At the same time, it’s believed that Pegatron will also win the 5.5inch model.
However, Focus Taiwan didn’t mention the main reason why Apple is going to switch from Foxconn to Pegatron. It is good to know that Apple worked with Pegatron back in 2012, for a portion of the assembly contracts for the iPhone 4S.
If Pegatron will indeed get more than 50% of the next iPhone manufacturing contract, it will be something huge for them.
New iPhone 7 model specially made for one-hand use
It is rumored that the third variant of the iPhone 7, which features a 4inch screen profile, will be great for one-hand use.
It is not sure if the iPhone 7 4inch variant will be a reconfigured iPhone 5S (which features a 4inch screen) or Apple is going to come with a totally new device. It’s clearly that the company will bring this device in order to attract buyers that don’t want to spend too much money on an iPhone. Actually, we believe that the iPhone 7 will be sold pretty well, if it comes at a decent price.
Recent reports suggest that, soon, Apple is going to send their iPhone 5C to “retirement”. As for the iPhone 7, Apple will most likely release it at the same time period in which they released the iPhone 6 in 2014. With other words, the iPhone 7 will most likely be released sometime in September 2015.
