The upcoming iPhone and iPad will be designed to hold multi tasks as new rumors suggest that the iPhone 7 and iPad Air RAM will be doubled. With other words, the iPhone 7 will come with 2GB of RAM and the iPad Air 3 will most likely have 4GB of RAM.
While the iPhone 6 comes with only 1GB of RAM and iPad Air 2 had only 2GB, it seems that Apple finally understood that they need to add more RAM to their device in order to keep up with their rivals.
So, what this actually means? What will improve on the upcoming devices if they come with better RAM?
Speed
First of all, the speed will be noticed after the first taps and now you will be able to run multiple tabs on your Safari without being worried that your device will start to be slower or to crash. While the doubled RAM might sound a bit too much, we believe that Apple really has to do this or they will lose many customers, sooner or later.
Multitasking
If you have higher RAM, you will be more productive. With other words, you will be able to run multiple applications without feeling that your device is moving too slow. In our opinion Apple made a mistake by bringing only 1GB on their iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Hopefully if the rumors are right, it seems that they understood that their devices need a boost on RAM.
Full 64bit architecture
The iPad Air 2 came with a 64bit processor, the A8X one, which can support more than 3GB of RAM, but for some reason they added only 2GB of RAM. Next year, they will be able to run on their upcoming A9 or A9X processor and 4GB of RAM, meaning that they will truly run on 64bit architecture. The new processor is expected to come with more power, but at the same time to be more energy efficient too.
It is rumored that the iPhone 7 will most likely be released sometime in early September of 2015.
