After the success of iPhone 4S, the fifth edition of the iPhone has been released in the market.
While Apple has always been popular for its sleek-designed devices that came in black and white colors, the release of the fifth-generation iPhones surprised the gadget world, as the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C came in more color availability. Design
Though the two versions of the iPhone have smart and sleek design, there is a remarkable difference in their basic model. The dimensions of the iPhone 4S and 5C are 115.2×58.6×9.3 mm and 124.4×59.2×9 mm respectively. This means that the newer version of the Apple smartphone is larger and slimmer than its predecessor. In addition to this, the fourth generation of iPhone weighs 140 g, whereas the iPhone 5C hits the weighing scales at 132 g. Apart from this, the iPhone 5C offers five colors – Green, White, Blue, Pink and Yellow, in comparison to its predecessor’s White and Black.
When it comes to display screen, the iPhone 4S features a LED-backlit 3.5-inch capacitive screen whereas the newer edition of Apple smartphone offers a LED-backlit 4-inch capacitive screen. In addition to this, there is Gorilla Glass protection on the screen of both the phones.

Hardware
The iPhone 4S runs on an 1 GHz Cortex-A9 dual-core processor with an Apple A5 chipset, whereas the newer version of the iPhone features an 1.3 GHz Swift dual-core processor with the Apple A6 chipset. This means that the newer version of the iPhone offers a more powerful platform for running apps and games. In addition to this, the iPhone 5C features the iOS 7, whereas its predecessor comes loaded with the iOS 5. However, both the phones are upgradable up to the iOS 8.1.3.
Coming to the storage, the two iPhones come in various versions of storage capacity. To be precise, there is an option to choose from 8 GB, 16 GB and 32 GB of the two phones; with an additional 64 GB option available for the iPhone 4S. This is accompanied by a 512 MB and a 1 GB RAM in the iPhone 4S and the iPhone 5C respectively. However, the external card slot is not present in the two Apple smartphones.

Camera
The primary cameras of the two phones are of 8 MP. The rear camera on both the Apple devices is accompanied by an LED Flash and clarity enhancement features like touch focus and face detection. When it comes to front camera, the iPhone 4S comes loaded with a VGA camera in comparison to iPhone 5C’s 1.2 MP camera.

With a remarkable difference of €180 in the price of the two phones, the high-priced iPhone 5C is preferable by people who choose features over price. Overall, choosing to upgrade to the colorful iPhone depends upon the budget and preferences of a prospective buyer.
