The present Sony flagship, the Xperia Z3 owners have something to rejoice after a long wait.
The latest Android v5.0 Lollipop update has been released for the recent flagship variant from Sony. The update is likely to hit the market by the end of next week.
Sony reveals the release of the Android v5.0 Lollipop update for the Xperia Z3, probably by the coming week. The update is rumored to encompass features such as notifications for the lock screen and installation of applications on the microSD card.
Furthermore, Sony mentioned the latest look introduced by Google, along with the Lollipop update – the Material Design. Since the Xperia lineup, come with Sony custom interfaces, it is rumored that Sony would include some aspects of Material Design into the Xperia Z3 user interface.
Android version 5.0 Lollipop for Sony Xperia Z3 Compact
Rumor mills were not able to suggest whether the Android version 5.0 Lollipop update would be released for the Xperia Z3 Compact or not. Sony has not commented on the Lollipop 5.0 update to be released for the Z3 Compact next week. However, taking into consideration the similarities both these handsets bear, it would not be long before the Xperia Z3 Compact owners would receive Android v5.0 Lollipop update.
In addition, rumors suggest that the upcoming Xperia Z4, a successor to Xperia Z3, is likely to come equipped with the Android version 5.0 Lollipop update. However, Sony has not officially revealed the final release date of the Xperia Z4. At the MWC 2015, Sony revealed its latest Xperia Z4 Aqua, which is expected to come powered with recent Lollipop 5.0 update.
