We expect a big showcase for Final Fantasy XVI in Spring 2022 – we might get the first gameplay trailer. Even if fans are pretty pleased with Final Fantasy XIV, we can’t ignore the fact that we are actually waiting for Final Fantasy XVI.
The game was initially revealed back in 2020, and it is a PS5-exclusive. It doesn’t have a clear release date yet, and we really expected a showcase during 2021. But that didn’t happen. The producers have apologized for not giving us a new trailer, and they promised a showcase in Spring 2022.
Naoki Yoshida, the producer of the project, stated: “When we last spoke, I promised I would have more information on Final Fantasy XVI sometime later in 2021. However I regret to inform you that I will be unable to keep that promise as complications stemming from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has delayed the game’s development by almost half a year.”
It’s been quite hard for the team to adapt to working from home, as they had to deal with many communication problems with other studios. They couldn’t develop Final Fantasy XVI smoothly. The producers promise to focus on the gameplay more, trying to get rid of all of the bugs and make the game to be at its best. They stated that it should be ready for a showcase in 2022. “I’m happy to announce the current plan is to conduct our next big reveal in Spring 2022 as we seek to build excitement leading up to the game’s eventual release.”
We cannot wait to see the new trailer for Final Fantasy XVI in the Spring of 2022.
