The world of anime fans is preparing for a brand new Dragon Ball series to launch in 2024 as a way to celebrate the 40-year anniversary of the legendary franchise. The upcoming show will be called ‘Dragon Ball Daima,’ and it has already ignited numerous discussions among fans online.
The new 2024 anime will stand out compared to all the other series of the franchise by turning Goku & Co. into kids for the first time. Sure, Goku has already been reduced to that state back in Dragon Ball GT, but this time, the entire gang will have to experience childhood once again.
It’s clear to anyone at this point that Dragon Ball Daima will have a lot of comedy in it and that it will most likely lack the tension that Dragon Ball Z was best known for. But one burning question arises: will Dragon Ball Daima bring new transformations for Goku and the gang? If we take a look at Dragon Ball Super, for instance, we can rapidly realize that the anime that ended in 2018 is teeming with new transformations. Ultra Instinct, Super Saiyan Blue, Golden Frieza, Super Saiyan God, and Super Saiyan Rose are some of them. Will Daima follow the same path?
Dragon Ball Daima won’t be nearly as “transformed” as Dragon Ball Super
Ajay, an insider anime, claims that the upcoming Dragon Ball series will focus more on “hard-to-hard combat” and “traditional weapons” (whatever that means for Dragon Ball) rather than excessive ki blasts and transformations.
– You can expect all the major players from Dragon Quest Dai to make an appearance as key animators. The emphasis is on hard-to-hard combat and traditional weapons rather than on ki blast spam. Don’t hold your breath for DBS transformation stuff especially. pic.twitter.com/AVVdXPnUkd

Surely, there are numerous Dragon Ball fans out there who despise the long list of new transformations that Dragon Ball Super has brought into the franchise, especially for their lack of true originality. They’re nothing but recolors of other transformations, they argue. But is that really the truth? Feel free to leave your opinion in the comment section!
