Apple Pay service is currently available in the US and now it seems that Samsung wants to bring their “Samsung Pay” service also. Mobile payments are available for quite a while, but Apple Pay has created the Touch ID sensor for you to make fast and secure payments to retail stores only if they have NFC support.
In order to make more people to use the Apple Pay service, Apple has confirmed that iPhone 5, iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C device will be able to use this service. However, in order to make it work, you will need to buy an Apple Watch, which is a clever thing that Apple is doing to “force” people, in a way or another, to buy this new Apple product.
Let’s not forget that there are millions of iPhone 5, iPhone 5C and iPhone 5 users all over the world, and when this service will be available in almost every country, there will be a lot of people who will want to use it.
In order to use the Apple Pay via Apple Watch, the users will need to enter their password on the smartwatch or touch the fingerprint sensor from the iPhone. We remind you that TouchID is supported by smartphones such as iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and tablets such as iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3.
It seems that not only Apple and Google want to have their own mobile payment service. Now Samsung is trying to bring the “Samsung Pay” system, hoping that they will make a fortune out of it. We remind you that Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge were unveiled at MWC 2015. The South Korean multinational conglomerate company is planning to allow people to use their Samsung Pay system via the fingerprint scanner that these two devices come with (it’s quite similar to how Apple Pay works on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus).
Apple Pay vs. Samsung Pay: Which one is better?
Apple Pay and Samsung Pay mostly use the same technology. Both of the payment services allow you to add credit or debit cards to them, which will store your credit card(s) information safe and use it when you’re about to make a payment via Apple Pay or Samsung Pay.
To make a payment using Apple Pay or Samsung Pay, you will need to use the fingerprint identification. This way, you will surely know that nobody else is able to make a payment using one of these two services.
Apple Pay vs Samsung Pay: Which Devices they support?
Apple Pay is currently supporting only iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus on terminal payments. However, you can make in-application purchases with the iPad Air 2 or iPad Mini 3 using this payment service. At the same time, as we already told you above, Apple Watch is supporting Apple Pay. On the other hand, Samsung Pay is currently supported by the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.
Apple Pay vs Samsung Pay: Where are they available?
In case you live in the UK, then we have some bad news for you: for now, both payment services don’t work in your country. Apple Pay was released in US back in October 2014 and currently it is not supported by any other country. However, there are rumors which say that soon enough the Apple Pay service will be available in more countries. This will happen when the banks will accept the fee Apple is asking (the fee that will be taken from those 2% that the bank takes for each transaction made by people via Apple Pay).
At the same time, Samsung Pay is not doing anything better and it’s not even released yet. According to reports, this service will be released in the second half of 2015 and it will be available only in the US or South Korea.
