Back in the old days, we would categorize both of these devices as phablets, but this is no longer the case. The only device of the two that we could refer to as phablet today, is the Note 4 one. But, in order to have a sneak peek at these two gizmos, let’s take a closer look at their fine points.
Design
These two gadgets are pretty similar in terms of measurements. Getting its inspiration from LG, the Asus ZenFone 2 comes packed with volume controls (look for it on the back of the device). The Note 4 on the other hand, has the keys placed on the back. These two gizmos are pretty large and are not easy to maneuver with just one hand. However, because it belongs to the Note line, the Samsung phablet has the S Pen squeezed in nicely in the right side corner.
Display Facts:
The ZenFone 2 comes with:
- a Gorilla Glass 3-protected 5.5-inch display (1080×1920 pixels)
The Note 4 comes with:
- a 5.5 Quad HD display
- 515 ppi pixel density
Processor & memory
ZenFone 2 comes packed with a LTE Intel Atom Z3580 processor and 4 cores that can get to frequencies of 2.33 GHz. But, users are in for a surprise when it comes to the device’s memory. You can find devices that have merely 2 GB of RAM, but you can also opt for the pricier ones that include a 4 GB of RAM.
The Note 4 comes with Snapdragon 805 or Exynos 7 Octa chipsets. So the version with the 4GB RAM of the Asus ZenFone 2 is quite the adversary for the Note 4 in terms of processor and power.
UI
The ZenFone 2 is really taking advantage of the ZenUI. There are some neat gimmicks implemented into the operating system. These gimmicks are all kinds of shortcuts that are linked to one’s gestures. ZenUI has diverse and brand new features implemented such as the ZenMotions as well as the SnapView and ZenUI Instant Updates.
But the Note 4’s TouchWiz interface is still on top. This UI is “worth a million”, and Android users love it.
Camera Specs
The ZenFone 2 comes packed with a 13-megapixel unit and 5-element, f/2.0 lens and a dual-color “Real Tone” LED flash implemented. If you take a closer look at the front camera unit ,you will see a 5 megapixel snapper which takes great selfies. And you even have the option of enabling a selfie panorama.
The Note 4 comes with a 16 MP snapper that also has image stabilization and the performance for this camera is off the charts.
Battery Life
The Note 4 device has a 3220 mAh while the ZenFone2 comes with a 3000 mAh battery. They are easily charged as well.
