It is expected that Google applications on Android to always be ahead of iOS in terms of functionality, but it is appreciated that the updates come pretty quickly though on the rival platform. Google Maps for Apple devices recently received an update that adds a very useful feature, already available on Android from April: sending addresses from the browser on your mobile phone.
This function is very easy to use and very useful, especially for those who prefer to plan their route on a larger screen and then transfer it to a smaller screen to receive navigation functions. The best part of the function “Send to Device” is the simply way of how it is implemented and the small number of steps necessary for activation.
It is only necessary to have the latest version of Google Maps installed on any iOS device, to access the category dedicated to notification settings menu and enable the ability to send addresses from your desktop interface. Thus, every time you search for an address using maps.google.com website, below results appears the “Send to Device” button, which provides a list of all available devices that can carry out this action.
The mobile device will receive a notification for Google Maps, which will place a pin at the desired address. From here the navigation paths can be established by all possible means and also the ability to save the address or access the Street View exploration module. Google Maps for iOS with the function “Send to Device” is available right now on AppStore as a free update.
