If you are looking for a brand new handset, then there are two new smartphones coming out this year that could really fit the bill. Both the Google Nexus 6 and the OnePlus Two phones are pretty good for their price, but of course similarities lead to problems with the main one being trying to work out which one you should choose. So, the only fair thing to do is to compare their specs and prices in order to try to determine which one may have the upper hand.
Their Specs And Features.
First, we need to check out their specs and they are pretty impressive to say the least. For the processor there is not much difference between them although the Nexus 6 uses the Snapdragon 805 while the OnePlus Two uses the 801 version. Both come with a basic 3 GB of Ram and the storage space is also pretty identical although the basic Nexus has 32 GB while the OnePlus Two has 16 GB.
Both come equipped with a camera as is the norm with smartphones and they are both absolutely identical as they have a 13 megapixels camera. Now, that is not as high as other models out there, so in that respect this is a bit of a disappointment, but they work well and at least with the Nexus 6 it is a huge improvement on the 5 as the camera was a bit of a let down.
For the actual display and style of the phones, then neither are much of a disappointment. The Nexus 6 has a massive 6 inch screen while the OnePlus Two has a 5.5 inch screen. The Nexus 6 also uses a QHD display while the OnePlus Two goes for the more standard 1080 HD and in all honesty this is the better option. The problem here is that the Nexus 6 just fails to get as much out of the display for the batter power that it uses and in that respect it is a bit of a let down. Overall, the battery life on the OnePlus Two is certainly the better of the two.
The Price.
Now is the interesting part regarding the price. Considering how similar both of the phones are the surprising part is just the difference between the price of both handsets. Quite simply, the Nexus 6 cannot compete as it is more than double the price of the OnePlus Two and it is difficult to understand how that can be justified as you are certainly not getting double the phone. Instead, it makes the Nexus 6 appear to be overpriced even though getting your hands on the OnePlus Two is not going to be easy.
So, to compare the two phones;
- Both have similar processors with the Nexus 6 version being slightly better.
- They both have 3GB of RAM.
- Storage space is pretty much the same.
- They have identical cameras.
- The OnePlus Two has the better display.
- The Nexus 6 is bigger.
- OnePlus Two offers the best value for money out of the two.
While they are both impressive smartphones, there is no doubt that the OnePlus Two handset is the better option. It can do pretty much everything that the Nexus 6 can do, but for a fraction of the price. That then makes you wonder just why you should bother spending that extra cash when there is a cheaper and better option readily available.
