Rockstar has recently stated that PS5 players can get the Expanded and Enhanced GTA Online free of cost during the first three months of its launch. But it seems now that the game will be free forever, not just for a temporary period, and fans are excited.
This actually means that PS5 players don’t need to pay for the game at all. But keep in mind that this might only apply if the game is installed between the 15th of March and the 14th of June, 2022.
The latest edition of the game has been released for pre-orders and pre-loads. You have two purchase options. One is the standard purchase of Story Mode together with the Online Mode, and the other one only has the Online Mode. You can get it with a 50% discount on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
However, we learned that the Online Mode would be free on the PS5. This means that those of you who buy the Story Mode + Online Mode combo will get it for a cheaper price on the PlayStation Store.
How much is the game?
Right now, the game costs $19.99 / £17.49 / €19.99 / AU $29.97 for Xbox Series X/S. For PlayStation 5, it’s $10.99 / £8.75 / €10.99 / AU $14.99
The prices seem good, since they come with a discount, but once the offer ends, the prices will get to around $39.99 / £34.99 / €39.99 / AU $59.95. Make sure you get the game by June 14, 2022.
Of course, the GTA Online standalone is free for PS5 players, but you still need a PS Plus subscription in order to play it. It’s actually a requirement for any multiplayer game on the PlayStation consoles.
