After launching the first Android lock screen, Microsoft Garage, where all things innovative takes place, has launched another one named the Picturesque lock screen. It has been particularly designed in a way that would promote their own Bing search engine as much as possible. To make things more appealing, the app will automatically retrieve the latest and most popular image from the search engine so that your phone looks gorgeous when it is not working.

Picturesque does sound like a good concept that allows you to know a lot of things without unlocking your phone. It is not only convenient but should help save a lot of battery in theory. Users are yet to adopt this and when they do so, we might know how good a job Microsoft has done.
The app is completely free to download from the Google Play Store and it comes with a wide range of features. It allows you to know weather updates right in your screen, also the latest news as well as notifications to stay in touch with your stuff. You can even type in to search on the go without unlocking the phone but there’s no Google but its Bing all the way, if you don’t mind that.
It is another attempt by the company to lure customers into using their own search engine rather than their competitor. For some who are not brisk enough to unlock and open Chrome, this might be a quick way to search on Bing to get the desired results. The idea does sound good and it might make some people click on it without second thoughts.
Windows 10 on a $35 PC
Raspberry Pi 2 is the new innovation from the people who made the first iteration and the more powerful, extremely compact PC that just costs $35 as the last edition. The good thing about this launch is that Microsoft has decided to support the developers and optimize their upcoming Windows 10 OS in such a way that it runs on this tiny PC without any additional hardware requirements. That’s one great move and it might allow the ambitious project to grow to new heights when the OS launches.
