The Nokia Lumia 730, a Dual SIM, 735 and 830 are three new midrange smartphones announced by Microsoft in September 2014.
All the three devices are focused on imaging and operate on the newest Windows Phone 8.1 version. Additionally, they come with some cool accessories and have the Nokia branding on them, as the feature will only be phased out slowly. The price of the flagship model, the Nokia Lumia 830, will be around $433.
The Nokia 830 – The Flagship Phone
The Nokia Lumia 830 is the flagship phone of the three and is an affordable option. It comes with a 5-inch display screen and a resolution of 720 pixels, which offers a pixel density of 293 ppi. The phone offers sharp and clear colors and text. The Gorilla Glass is gently curved, protecting the screen. It has a removable back and is slim and light, though it is solid.
The Nokia Lumia 830 comes with a battery capacity of 2200 mAh and offers wireless charging though the Qi standard, this being quite rare in midrange devices. It is offered in different colors, such as black, green, orange and white.
Specs and Features of the Nokia Lumia 830
It runs on a quad core Snapdragon 400 Processor clocking at 1.2 GHz with a RAM of 1 GB. It has an internal storage of 16 GB that can be expanded to 128 GB with the use of a micro SD card. The camera is excellent with 10 MP PureView and Zeiss optics along with OIS. It can capture video at 1080 pixels at 30 fps and offers many cool features, such as the Camera app for automatically recording 4K video at 24 fps with 8.2 MP and offers top quality images.
The Lumia 730 and the Lumia 735 – Essentially the Same
Both these devices are very identical but offer different options for connectivity and for wireless charging. The design of both the phones is identical with round edges for the top and bottom and a plastic finish. They are available in different colors, such as green, dark gray and in orange and white options. The Lumia 735 offers wireless charging, but this is not available for the Lumia 730.
The internal hardware on both the devices is almost the same, being powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor clocking at 1.2 GHz with a RAM of 1 GB. The storage is only 8 GB for these phones, but it can be increased to 64 GB using the microSD card.
Display Comparison
Both the Lumia 730 and the Lumia 735 come with the same display size of 4.7 inches and a resolution of 720 pixels, OLED. This offers a higher pixel density of 316 ppi when compared to the Lumia 830.
Difference in Camera
The main difference between the Lumia 730 and the Lumia 735 when compared to the Lumia 830 is the camera features. In case of the 730 and the 735, the major focus is on taking selfies and Skype. Both these devices come with 5-MP resolution front or secondary Camera and have a wide-angle lens. However, the rear camera is also good at 6.7-MP, though not equal to the rear camera of the Lumia 830.
