With so many rumors spreading around for the OnePlus Two, the co-founder of OnePlus Carl Pei decided to take matters into Twitter and shed some light.
Thanks to some Twitter news, we now know the release date of the phone and some of the specs are all but confirmed.
Release Date and Price
Carl Pei was very clear that the phone will be shipped in the third quarter of the year. According to many, this announcement confirms that a September launch date is very much possible. As for the price, there are rumors that the OnePlus Two could cost up to $500. The OnePlus One was priced at $299, and $349, depending on the storage. The second generation could very much justify a price of $500, as the Nexus line by Google has raised its price. With Google raising the price of the Nexus line, the OnePlus Two could deliver the best ‘value for money’ phone on the market. It is worth noting that the invite system will be back in place for the OnePlus Two.
Specs and Features Rumors
According to sources from China, the OnePlus Two will feature the powerful Snapdragon 810 inside, coupled with 4 GB of RAM. That will make the phone a performance powerhouse. The battery capacity will likely be set at 3300 mAh, but that is more than any other flagship on the market at the moment. The display size and resolution is still unknown, but Carl Pei did hint that the size will surprise many. Whether that will be a smaller or larger display of the 5.5 inches on the OnePlus One? We will see. But it seems like the company is working on a bezel free design that will maximize the potential of the display. As for the features and the operating system, the second generation will again run a ROM based system on the Android 5.0 Lollipop. According to rumors, the OnePlus Two will offer even more customization for users.
