The Halloween Terror event in Overwatch was a success, with its new modes and content, as well as skins for Brigitte and Echo. And since people are preparing for Christmas, a holiday-themed event will probably soon start. Overwatch is known for its annual Winter Wonderland, which comes with new maps, skins and gear. But what will happen this year?
So when is the release date?
Last year, Winter Wonderland 2020 lasted from the 15th of December to the 5th of January. In 2019, the event lasted from the 10th of December until the 2nd of January. Winter Wonderland 2021 could last – in the best case scenario – from the 10th of December until the 5th of January – wouldn’t that be amazing?
We’re still waiting for an official statement with the official release date.
Winter Wonderland comes with great surprises for players. From seasonal changes to maps, to festive loot boxes and new skins and modes, this seems to be the perfect event for the fanbase. There’s usually plenty of time for you to enjoy it all.
What skins are we getting this year?
With every Christmas event, we also get Christmas themed skins. Last year, we had dozens of skins, and they were available with the weekly challenges. Elf Junkrat, Gingerbread Ana, Frosty Roadhog were just a few to name.
The challenges will surely be back, as well as the gear from the festive loot boxes. We cannot wait to see what new skins we’re getting this year.
Will there be new maps?
Christmas comes with holiday-themed map changes, and we’re so excited about that. Locations will be beautiful, with their lights, Christmas trees and, of course, snow. They will appear for the entire event.
Last year, we had a limited time reskins of the King’s Row and Hanamura maps, so does this mean we’re also getting something similar this year? We are bound to find out more soon.
