We are bound to see Resident Evil 2, 3 and 7 coming to the next-gen of consoles. Capcom has officially confirmed the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the games.
All of the three titles will receive visual enhancements and they will all be available to those of you who own the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the games, and you won’t have to pay a thing.
Resident Evil 2 and 3 got remakes in 2019 and 2020, but it seems that Capcom comes with other news about these titles. These two remakes will be visually upgraded for the next-gen consoles.
Resident Evil 7 from 2017 will also receive a next-gen upgrade for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. All of these three titles will include ray-tracing, increased frame rate, and 3D audio.
If you own a PlayStation 5, then you will also get DualSense support for adaptive triggers and haptic feedback.
If you already own these three titles, you will get the upgrade at no cost. PC players will receive their free upgrade when the next-gen versions launch later this year.
You can buy Resident Evil 3 for 60% off on the PlayStation Store until the 16th of March. Both Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 7 remain at the same, full price.
As of now, Capcom hasn’t given us a specific release date for the next-gen upgrades, they just said they would be here later this year.
The entire horror series has been a success, and fans are eager to learn more about the titles. We, as well, cannot wait to hear more about them, and we will update you as soon as we learn more.
