Spotify vs. Apple Music vs. Pandora: Which Music Streaming Service Tops the List?

Just recently when Apple was holding the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), it was made public that the Apple Music will soon be coming to the iOS.

Those using iOS 8 will be the first to get this update, which is set to be released on the last day of this month. Apple users are eagerly waiting for this application to be released thanks to the fact that Cupertino will be releasing it as a free app, but only for the first three months.

Even though many are anticipating for the launch of Apple Music, there are still other music streaming apps that are doing much better in the current market. Here is a comparison of these music streaming services against the upcoming Apple Music, in a bid to determine which one of them is the ultimate provider of music services on the iOS 8 devices.

Apple Music

The Apple Music will be preinstalled in the upcoming iOS 8.4. This means that once one upgrades his iPhone OS to the latest iOS 8.4, their phone will automatically be updated with the new Apple Music app. However, this app will only work for a limited period of three months after which users must pay a fee of $9.99 per month in order to keep using it.

Considering the fact that Apple Music is set to offer the users with at least 30 million tracks, there is no doubt that this price is very reasonable for the Apple users. Nevertheless, Apple was very much aware that simply having a large music library will not do the trick against other huge players like Spotify. As a result, the company went for more, for instance, strong integration with Siri personal assistant. Using this voice assistant, users can search for a particular track with respect to the year of production and immediately play it once it is found.

You will also come across a very simple UI. The app also provides more suggestions of songs in the genres you have and bands that appear to be favorites in your searches. There is also a radio station for streaming new songs, which is also a great way of promoting new artists. It is also possible for an artist to promote himself by taking advantage of the social feature that lets them share songs, photos as well as notes with their fans. To get the family plan of six, you’ll have to part with $14.99.

Spotify

There are currently more than 60 million people that use Spotify to stream music to their devices. The app asks for a fee of $9.99, which must be paid on a monthly basis in order to keep using the ad-free version of this app. The free version comes with ads, but it still has access to 30 million tracks like with the case of Apple Music. The Spotify app can be used on PCs, tablets and smartphones as well and it also includes strong integration with Facebook such that users can easily share favorite tracks, albums and playlists with friends using the app.

Just like Apple Music, the family plan for Spotify asks for a fee of $14.99 per month.

Pandora

Pandora comes in with more than 80 million users from all over the world thanks to the fact that it has been around for over a decade and a half. What users love about this app are the features it offers; however, you’ll get a smaller list of songs as compared to the other two. Better still, you will be sure of getting a much cheaper offer with Pandora as the app only asks for a monthly fee of $4.99 in order to get rid of the ads.
