Ubisoft is working on a new Star Wars game, and it shall be known as ‘Star Wars Outlaws.’ It will be the first ever open-world game that’s based on the Star Wars franchise. The story is set between the events of the second and third movies of the legendary sci-fi – between the stories of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.
Both The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi are Star Wars movies that were released back in the ’80s, which was the golden era of sci-fi movies for a lot of people.
Despite the new approach that the upcoming ‘Star Wars Outlaws’ game brings, it won’t run on two major gaming platforms.
‘Star Wars Outlaws’ will receive no support from Steam and the Epic Games Store
Exputer reveals that the upcoming ‘Star Wars Outlaws’ open-world game won’t be available for Steam and the Epic Games Store. Instead, the game will receive support from Ubisoft Connect, which is unsurprising considering that the French developer is responsible for creating the game itself.
Here’s a relevant description of ‘Star Wars Outlaws’ coming from Ubisoft:
Experience the first-ever open world Star Wars™ game, set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Explore distinct planets across the galaxy, both iconic and new. Risk it all as Kay Vess, a scoundrel seeking freedom and the means to start a new life, along with her companion Nix. Fight, steal, and outwit your way through the galaxy’s crime syndicates as you join the galaxy’s most wanted.
‘Star Wars Outlaws’ releases in 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows PCs. We’ll surely learn about a more precise release date soon enough, so stay tuned!
