Uh, oh! Some of Apple’s older iPhones may be discontinued, according to recent reports. The tech giant based in Cupertino plans to stop making some models following the release of the new iPhone 15 series later this year. As harsh as that could be, it’s totally normal, considering the fact that the company does such a thing with a few outdated models each year. The reason? Well, it’s actually obvious! To create room for the newest phones.
This year, Apple is anticipated to release four new iPhone 15 series models, the much-awaited iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Are you excited about this?!
Okay, so what iPhones will be discontinued? Check them out below.
Well, we actually expected this, but the iPhone 12, along with the iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max, and iPhone 13 mini, may be discontinued starting this year. Apple won’t keep making any iPhone for more than three years, but, of course, there might be some exceptions. So, we’ve got the iPhone 12 series, introduced back in October 2020, then we had the iPhone 13 mini that wasn’t quite the deal among fans, and the iPhone 14 series, launched in 2022.
What’s the current status? With the launching of the iPhone 14 and the subsequent release of the iPhone SE in 2022, the tech giant now offers eight distinct iPhone models. While the iPhone 12 will mark its third birthday this autumn (aww, three years old, baby!), the iPhone 13 models debuted back in 2021.
Finally, to get a better grip on how this works, you should also know that Apple discontinues its Pro models after a year of sales. As a result, it’s somehow obvious to say goodbye to iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. But if you really want to add a Pro to your collection, hurry up and grab the best deals now! Additionally, iPhones are sometimes sold at cool discounts.
