WhatsApp version 2.11.552 is currently in BETA and comes with the voice calling feature. However, only the users who had access to the voice calling feature in the older version have access to it now.
Even if the WhatsApp voice calling feature was rolled out to a limited group of users, we’re pretty sure that the developers almost have enough data to release it for all their users. At the same time, this feature is expected to be added to WhatsApp installed on devices that run on Windows Phone, iOS and Android.
Along with the voice calling feature, a new pop-up feature can be noticed in the n the 2.11.552 version of WhatsApp. This new pop-up will appear when you tap on a contact from your list of friends. In the new window you will see the profile picture of the person you’ve selected and three other options such as “Voice Call”, “Message” and “Info”.
However, you will not be able to see this new option, the pop-up window, if you don’t have the voice calling feature activated. At the same time, your device will have to run on Android 5.0 Lollipop.
WhatsApp Web supports Firefox, Safari and Opera
WhatsApp supported only Google Chrome when it was firstly released. However, WhatsApp’s developers assured us that they will bring WhatsApp Web on other PC web browsers also. With other words, the WhatsApp Web feature can now be used on Firefox, Safari and Opera without any problem. All you have to do is select the WhatsApp Web feature from your WhatsApp and access WhatsApp Web via one of these browsers.
Installing WhatsApp version 2.11.552 APK on your Android
The WhatsApp 2.11.552 version is currently in beta and can be downloaded only from WhatsApp official website. Once the WhatsApp webpage loads you can tap on download, select Android device and tap again download. You will then notice that a WhatsApp APK file will be downloaded on your smartphone. However, in order to install the APK file on your smartphone, you will need to enable “Unknown Sources”. If this feature is not enabled you will not be able to install any APK files that are not downloaded from the Google Play Store.
To enable this feature, head to your Android smartphone’s Settings->Application and make sure that “Unknown Sources” is checked. After that, head back to the location where you’ve downloaded the APK file and tap on it to start the installation. Once the installation is complete, verify your WhatsApp account by using your mobile phone number and use all the new features that this WhatsApp version comes with!
We remind you that this version is currently in BETA test and you may find some glitches, bugs and that sometimes your application will randomly crash. This is something normal, as the developers are still working on the version.
