WhatsApp’s developers have released a new version of one of the most used messaging applications out there. The WhatsApp version 2.12.111 has surfaced and it comes with some minor bugs improvements and it can already be installed on your Android smartphone.
WhatsApp 2.12.109 has been released at the end of the last week and now a new version of this awesome application has been released. Even if the developers say that they’ve made only some minor fixes, we’re pretty sure that they are working pretty hard on something. We guess that the feature that they are currently improving is the Voice Calling. When this feature was released for all Android users, there were a lot of complains about it. Some users said that the feature is “eating” too much data, while others reported that the Calls are either lagging or ending without any reason.
We’re pretty sure that sooner or later, the Voice Calling feature will work like a charm, but until then we suggest you to not use it when you are connected to your mobile data or you will end up losing all the included MB.
Installing WhatsApp 2.12.111 on an Android smartphone
WhatsApp 2.12.111 version is currently in BETA, which means that this version is not available on the Google Play Store (in the official Android store you will find only the latest STABLE version of WhatsApp).
If you want to use the latest STABLE version of WhatsApp, then open the Google Play Store and search for WhatsApp. Install or update to the latest version and you will have the WhatsApp 2.12.94 installed on your Android smartphone. Keep in mind that this STABLE version has the Voice Calling feature also, but currently it has some issues that will most likely be fixed soon enough.
However, in case you want to see what the future has prepared for you, you can always install the WhatsApp 2.11.111 BETA on your Android smartphone. First of all, make a backup of your WhatsApp conversations and uninstall the application from your device. After that, open the browser on your Android device and head to whatsapp.com/android. There, you will need to tap on the “Download Now” button to start downloading the WhatsApp 2.12.111 APK file on your Android device.
Now, that you have the installation file downloaded to your Android device, you will need to enable a feature that allows you to install “unofficial” APK files. This feature is called Unknown Sources and depending on the Android OS version your device runs on, you will find it in either Settings->Applications or Settings->Security. Once you find it, you will need to enable it by checking the box in front of it.
When you are sure that this feature is enabled, use a file manager and head to the location where you saved the WhatsApp 2.12.111 and install it on your Android device. Enjoy using the latest WhatsApp BETA version!
