It seems that WhatsApp is the application of the moment. It is in a continuous growth and currently has over 800 million monthly active users. After the developers released the Voice Calling feature, a lot of new users have installed the application on their smartphones, to hear the voices of their friends.
Lately, the developers have been releasing new WhatsApp versions almost daily. From what we’ve noticed, the WhatsApp developers are currently improving the Voice Calling feature, as many users reported that this feature doesn’t work as it should and the calls are either randomly ending or lagging.
WhatsApp version 2.12.87 APK: What’s new?
Along with the usual bug fixes and improvements, the new WhatsApp 2.12.87 APK comes with some fixes for the Voice Calling feature.
With the new call reception interface, now, the users will be able to change the color of the icon and the font size. The default wallpaper has received a revamp and now it looks cooler featuring some delicate outline drawings. Also, the search bar now has a semi-transparent look.
WhatsApp 2.12.87: How to install it on an Android smartphone
WhatsApp v2.12.87 is currently in BETA and it can’t be found on the official Google Play Store. However, in order to download it, you will need to run the browser on your smartphone and open the WhatsApp official website. So, open your default browser on your Android smartphone and head to whatsapp.com.
Once the WhatsApp official website loads, tap on Download, select Android and finally tap on “Download Now” to start downloading the WhatsApp 2.12.87 APK file on your mobile device.
Now that you’ve downloaded the APK file, you will need to manually install it on your Android smartphone. Android OS comes by default with the Unknown Sources disabled. This option allows you to install unofficial APK files on your device. This option can be found on either Settings->Applications or Settings->Security (it depends on the Android OS version your smartphone is running). To enable it, there is a box in front of the Unknown Sources option which you will check.
When this option is enabled, go to the folder where you’ve saved the WhatsApp 2.12.87 APK file and start installing it on your Android device. When the installation is completed, you will need to accept the terms of use and enter your mobile phone number to get verified.
