For about a year, we’ve been talking about the new Voice Calling Feature of WhatsApp and now it has become a reality. In theory, the function is available for each of us. In practice, there are a few problems that need to be kept in mind.
Because it is quite hard to give away the new feature to all 700 million WhatsApp users, at least for now, only Android users can fully talk on the phone through this popular application.
Also, WhatsApp has introduced a long-awaited and important function for its users – the Facebook integration. Basically, Facebook and WhatsApp integrate a new feature in which the two applications are interacting more.
The Facebook bought WhatsApp app since last year for $19 billion, but from then until now, we have not seen too much interaction between the two applications. Probably because many users have complained about this, Facebook and WhatsApp decided to interact more.
From now, the users of Facebook Android app will be able to send messages and share different photos and statuses directly on WhatsApp. This is possible thanks to a “send” button appearing on a newly introduced version of the app, located on the extreme right-hand side after the normal “comment”, “like” and “share” buttons.
For taking advantages of all of this, the users must sign up to be a beta tester for Facebook’s Android app. Basically, taking part of the Google group for Facebook Android beta testers, then downloading the app from the Google Play Store. Once you have done these procedures, the next step is to share news and information with your WhatsApp contacts via the “send” button.
So far, WhatsApp’s CEO Jan Koum has confirmed that the company will continue to operate independently, despite the purchase of Facebook.
