WhatsApp’s developers already brought the Voice Calling feature on the Android version. However, there is a way to enable the feature on WhatsApp for iPhone also and today we’re going to tell you how to do it.
It is good to know that the developers already added a Call button to the latest WhatsApp BETA version for iPhone, but they didn’t activate it. However, by using a jailbroken iOS, you will be able to enable the Voice Calling feature very easy.
Enabling WhatsApp Voice Calling feature on your iPhone
First of all, you will need to install the latest WhatsApp Beta version. In case you are running the new iOS 8.2 beta 2 it is good to know that you can jailbreak it using TaiG.
After you got your iOS jailbroken, you will have to download and install the latest WhatsApp beta version. To do this, you will need to launch Cydia and install AppSync Unified Beta from the developer’s repository (in case you don’t have a repo added then add this address: http://cydia.angelxwing.net).
After AppSync Unified Beta has been downloaded and installed on your iPhone, you will need to reboot the device. After the iPhone has rebooted, you will need to open Mobile Safari and head to this webpage: https://dev2.whatsapp.net/ios/WhatsApp. Once you are there, you will need to tap on the WhatsApp Beta link to get it installed on your iPhone.
Once you get the WhatsApp Beta version installed on your device, you will be able to activate the Voice Calling feature. To do this, ask a friend of yours who already has this feature enabled on his device (someone who has WhatsApp on his Android device) to give you a call. After you pick up the phone call, the Voice Calling feature will be automatically enabled on your device and you will be able to call others via WhatsApp.
Unfortunately, there is no other way to enable Voice Calling feature for now. In case you don’t want to jailbreak your iOS, then you will need to wait for the developers to release a new stable WhatsApp version that will have this feature enabled. However, this will most likely take a few months.
